     A man born in the 80's and raised in the 90's drippin the very essence of battle rapper turnt songwriter excellence! (The M.I.C) Born Michael David Nicks Jr. to military parents, never stayed in one place too long, developing an understanding of the human experience in a way that's reflected in his music. Born in Oakland, CA and raised in St. Louis his (Hometown), Mike also spent summers during his childhood in Gary, Indiana; which also is his second home. Having an extremely musically inclined father who not only played several instruments, his household was filled with hundreds if not thousands of tape cassettes, CD's, and vinyl which included everything from Jazz, Soul, Rock, Funk, to Hip Hop/R&B. His Style is a blend of Hip Hop, R&B, and Street Soul, with influences from artist like Big Pun, DMX, JAY-Z, and Mary J Blige just to name a few! Starting from the underground battling scene, street cyphers, and open mics to moving onto expanding and growing as a songwriter and developing his brand. The M.I.C has faced many challenges and knows there's many more to come with being a aspiring Lyricist, while knowing anything worth having can't be achieved overnight! At this rate, this seasoned St. Louis veteran is concentrating his efforts to contributing something fresh and innovating to the game for the City of St. Louis and the world for many years to come!
