Today I was scrolling down Facebook, and I saw a post that intrigued me. There was an article posted on http://www.accordingtochris.com with a title that simply said this...

The typical black church is still acting like slaves.

I took the time to read the article, instead of skimming through it like I normally do! and it's funny...I've been speaking these things for YEARS!!!, and anybody that knows me personally has heard me speak on these very TRUTHS only to be met with Aggression, Judgment, & Disbelief because I'm not following their Pastor's or Bishop's etc... "Version" of the Word of God, while puttin on a show! Study to show YOURSELF approved...then you'll look around and DISAPPROVE of what you see!

40 days....

         Yesterday "B" text me and was like "So.... starting Monday, I'm Fasting until I come see you!"
No: Wheat, Beef, Pork, Processed foods, Dairy, Sugar, Fried food! But I'm gonna need help with this Cheese!!!! Then I was Like, "I'ma gonna Fast wit you" and This time I'm doing it for REAL!!!

       Every time I've ever heard about someone Fasting it seemed to me they always would only do a 7 day Fast that only consisted of not cussing or not eating meat; Or some would be like "I'm doing this so I can have a breakthrough!!!!" ISAIAH 58:4 Says "You cannot Fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high."
       
         My personal feelings behind fasting are simply feelings of self servitude and sacrifice. For there are true benefits of fasting no one one ever discusses.
ISAIAH 58:8-9 says "Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the lord will be your rear guard. (9)Then you will call, and the lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I."
 So....For the next 40 days Me and "B" will be fasting for these reasons. And thus begins our Journey counting down the days til our next key moment in life together!

       So, I get a phone call from Ms. Ramos (waking me up outta my sleep dreaming bout Brandy) lol... and she said..."Hey... so can you host a Red Carpet Event for us tonight? Now in my mind I'm thinking..."Is she Serious?" But I instantly replied...."Why of course I would!" Later that evening, I headed out to Jon Lovitz Comedy Club at City Walk and got there before everyone else. Pretty soon, I could see why Ms. Ramos was freaking out because she hit me up shortly after I arrived, thinking I was running late because Mr. Collins had already been inside and had everything set up! I ended up Meeting and interviewing the best comedians in the business!; AJ Johnson, Bill Hill, King Kedar, GM Ford, Derrick Ellis, Yvette, Spanky Hayes, The Hilarious Clipperman, and an array of more side splitting comedians.  The host's of the evening were Black Casper and Melanie Camacho. It's crazy...cuz what I realized at the end of the evening (before I had a headache and was ready to go home)...was that sometimes...wherever you end up, is Always the right place!

So...Now I'm an intern at Punch TV!!!

               So a couple of days ago, I received a phone call from a woman at Punch TV Studios saying that they want me to come in for an interview! So I got real *Jazzy, and hopped on the train, then the bus, and ended up right off Pico! I get inside and the first guy I saw was the doorman, cool dude. Then I saw this young brother at the desk said hi! He asked if I was here to see Ms. Ramos!?..(I honestly couldn't remember who's name was on the bottom of that email!) So I told him that, and then remembered it was Ms Coral who I spoke to on the phone! An older gentleman by the the name of Ryan walked by and formally introduced himself before I went to have a seat. Then a light skinned gentleman with a bright colored tie walked up to me and introduced himself....uuuggghhh... honestly, I'm Bad wit names! But I remember faces REAL GOOD and his face became more familiar when he said... "You do Spoken Word don't you?" I looked at him and he said "At the Bonaventure right?" I cheesed and was like "yeah that's me!" Right when I said that, a woman came walking down from upstairs and she said "Are you Paul Marcellus Nicks?" I said "yes ma'am" and just has she invited me upstairs; the light skinned brother I had remember seeing at one of my events before, said to the woman, "He's a dope Spoken Word lyricist Miss Rachel, He Dope!" Crazy right!?

          We sat down in her office, and we formally introduced ourselves. After I told her a little about me, she asked me politely..."What is your Goal here?" In the next couple years what are you here for and what are you trying to achieve? I explained that I wanted to be the face of their company and assist in helping it grow to reach it's short term and long term goals!
We had a lengthy and great conversation full of honestly, wisdom and experience, the kind I respect! At the end of our Great "Exchange" she ask, did I want to be part of the family? and offered me an internship and an opportunity to build with the company! I said "YES" and she asked "When would you like to start?' I said "TOMORROW!"
*Jazzy-means Fly, Fresh, Clean, and phrases like: Cooler than a Eucalyptus, leaf submerged in Vanilla bean sittin in my freezer! 

Quit Cryin wit ya Jelly Spine!!!

This week has truly been a key moment in life for me! Yours might have been too! But I wanna share something VERY IMPORTANT with everyone reading this blog, especially my fellow Kings reading this! I was on Facebook today and was just looking over something, and you know how there are Ads on the right hand side of the screen we never click on! Well today God, pointed out this video which I saw out my peripheral. I actually looked at it a couple times before I gave in and clicked on it! I know who TD Jakes is... but I can't say I follow him and his sermons. I sat and listened and watched this video in its entirety! Everything that I have been feeling as a Man, he said! The very feeling of knowing you have "Thick" skin and spine of "Steel" while facing belittling and demeaning situations, racism, and downright disrespect while trying to maintain your integrity; everyday gets to be much for EVERY MAN! However, (And this is where that conversation I was having with one of my brothers pops out in my mind)  WE WERE BUILT FOR THIS!  On days where you feel discouraged, (for whatever reason) FIND your encouragement! How you do this is simple! After you pray for encouragement, think of the fact that you are still able to go on and accomplish great things and simply make it so!

There are even these moments where we gotta remain poise!

Today was one of the most exasperating days of the week so far for me! One thing I hate more than anything is to be Disrespected! especially, when I'm trying to help. I don't understand why its necessary to belittle, antagonize, and downright taunt the people that work under you. If there's something you would like for me to do, just tell me! And I'll get on it because in my mind WERE A TEAM! Why is it necessary for you to clap your hands at me and talk shit!? And while your clapping... I'm thinking of clapping YOU! I know we ALL deal with this, but this is the main reason why I need to be my own boss! I saw myself breaking his jaw today....TWICE! Was it cuz its Halloween?!? Don't get it twisted Pimpin! I'm from Saint Louis!!! And I WILL knock the fiber of cloths off your body! Now this is what I'm thinking while I'm assessing the situation! Instead of allowing this person to push me out of character I'ma just beat him at his own game! And that's where the mental game of chess begins! You see, Trainers, Managers, Supervisors, whatever they are that behave Irately; only need ONE thing to beat you!, and that's your lack of knowledge in a particular area they THINK you know nothing about! Which explains their blatant lack of respect for you! (Not that you need it!) But, who wants to work in an environment where someones yelling at you and disrespecting you with no regard of the flying right hook that could come out of nowhere from YOU!

Today has been a Exciting and Nervously Dope and Blessed day! Today was the day I Became the first in my family to step in the doors of Capitol Records and Work with Grammy Award Winning Evren Gokar! And  guess what!?...HE LOVED MY MUSIC!!! I learned so much from Him today! It took YEARS of grinding, and (I'm gonna grind forever...) but to see your hard work paying off... Yeeeeessssss! You might consider it a hiatus, but it's truly what you need!

There are moments in your life where your constantly thinking about every little bitty thing you need to take care of, but the truth at that time is that you simply need to sit tight and focus on stacking and relaxing! I hate to go on my social media sites ie..(Facebook, Twitter...Etc.) and leave my feelings about things. I prefer to take a different approach to certain things. I discuss what's on my mind in my music. So if you wanna get to know Paul Marcellus, then you're going to need to get to know my music! And you don't have to turn on the radio to do that, at least not for now! I always have things on my mind. But there are moments that You need to take a break on pushing yourself. I recommend doing this when you do have enough established for whatever your trying to accomplish. (Ie..If your an artist and your starting from the ground up make sure you take a break only after you've developed your 5 year business plan, put together your media press kit and your EPK, done a couple videos...etc) It's after you've set your self up to be in a good position do you sit tight, relax, and stack your bread and take time to relax! You will eventually realize that you"ll be doing this for the rest of your life. So the pattern, is to grind, then stack and relax. Then do it all over again! I have an end goal and then goals after my end goal. And you should too! So, develop this and while your mind is clear from having to do so much, you'll be able to hear GOD more clearly and then be able to properly move forward when the time is right!

When you write the vision, and make it plain, you'll end up in Las Vegas too!!!

I've never been to Vegas until just recently, but I remember various dreams of me performing there even though when I woke up I had no recollection of what was going on in the dream! Have you ever had dreams like that before??? At this stage in my life, I am aware that i'm not crazy! I do often see words or get messages in front of me for like a straight week! I can't explain it any other way other than to just say this has been happening to me all throughout my life. "Write the vision and make it plain" The moment I take the time to to listen to the message and write, compose, engineer, or just simply draw my plans out, things like this happen!

 There are a ton of people in this world that are going through some rough times and every time you get to that point, what is going through your mind that is positive? Let me speak on a topic that is dear to my heart. For those who have lost EVERYTHING I know a little something about that. No matter what your circumstance is at the time remember, You are alive and healthy (Hopefully) and if you are in your right mind (Which i hope you are as well) Then you have everything you need to  change your situation even if it just takes a couple steps of prudent planning and solid execution! Every thought has a frequency! Thoughts send out a magnetic energy! So keep your mind focused on the task at hand until completion! and remember also...Know one will ever truly understand your struggle. So fuck it...Just grind!

Remember the things that are important!!!

Whenever you are in the eye of the storm and you cant seem to focus on that one (or many things) that will get you through, close your eye's and remember the ones that are depending on you to make it through and succeed at what your doing!

On a non philosophical note.....

Welcome my people!....Welcome.

                     I'm so excited that your here with me on this exciting journey we call life! This is my first blog site and I'm ready to share with you personal struggles and triumphs from my own perspective. No....my words will not be interpreted by another person and then copy and pasted here for you to read. This will be coming from MY OWN MIND!

           Great! Now that we've gotten that out the way let me tell      you a little about why I started this blog! I am a Spoken Word/Singer Songwriter/ Producer and recording artist building up my own company with my team. It is my intention to share with you knowledge and insight that I have acquired throughout my young years on this planet. Some of you have been through far worse things in life than I have, however....this is life and the experiences I have had good or bad (Like we all like to tell ourselves) were simply Choices I've made that have had their own outcomes. 

          I am NO scholar in the sense of having a degree, however I have studied at various schools learning Computer and Electronics, Culinary Arts, Audio Engineering, and more recently studying for my BA in Communications: emphasis in Marketing and Sales. So I would like to think that I have picked up some things along the way! Not to mention all the jobs I've had since I was 15! (Not mentioning cutting grass at the age of 7 with my older brother and shoveling snow!) 

         At this very moment in my life I am on my way to bringing the world my project which is titled the "Lyrics of my Life" and me and my team are experiencing life by way of the choices were making that not many people get the chance to see, or know... in order to make the choices for themselves to be able to move forward. Indeed...I have sacrificed and am still sacrificing in order to be were I know I should be within this vessel. I know you want to be there too! So thank you for following me and feel free to comment or share my site with anyone you know so we can grow as a family of highly evolved, intelligent, free spirited, fearless, financially and spiritually stable beings!
